Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM)

The Alzheimer’s resource project in IMU was initiated by the department of psychology in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM) in 2016. The initial idea was to design a blog called ‘ADFM-IMU Alzheimer’s blog’ in order to provide a platform for professionals, students, patients and caregivers within Malaysia to improve and spread the knowledge and awareness about the disease and to keep themselves updated regarding the latest news nationally and globally.

Bloomers Training House Sdn Bhd

Bloomers Training House Bhd is a center for special needs adults, where they will be trained on time management (punch cards) and simple practical skill-based jobs (packing cutlery items, fixing bolts and nuts etc).

CareNS

CareNS is an initiative at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar, Seremban, to raise awareness about mental health among young adults, while providing informational support for non-governmental organisations that help people with mental health issues.

Persatuan Kebajikan Suara Kanak-Kanak Malaysia (SUKA) Society

This project aims to address the oral health needs for poor urban communities of SUKA Society through screening the children’s oral health status, formulating intervention programmes based on their needs assessment as well as raising awareness among community members about the maintenance of oral health.

Activities: Dental screening and education, develop skills for maintaining good oral hygiene, refer and provide dental treatment based on needs assessment.

Negeri Sembilan Association Of The Deaf (NESDA)

NESDA has enrolled approximately 300 deaf people in Negeri Sembilan, with the aim to provide quality of life to the deaf community by catering to their needs in education, social-economical aspects and overall health and well-being. Research shows that the deaf and mute are seven times more likely to suffer from chronic illnesses due to the barriers in accessing health information. This project aims to reduce and prevent chronic illnesses and improve prognosis by ensuring early intervention among the deaf community.
