“When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.”
– Fred Rogers

Counselling Services

University life can be compared to starting a whole new chapter of life. This journey’s main twists and turns are centred around self-discovery and self-reliance while you are learning to cope with being away from home, making new friends, balancing personal time, understanding, and meeting the demands of your course.  From time to time, while you are busying coping with these adjustments you may sometimes feel overwhelmed.

Our team of mental health professionals which are the counsellors and clinical psychologists are ready to journey along with you by providing the following services: individual/group counselling, educational wellbeing, career guidance, workshop and training, referral, and crisis intervention.

A

Individual Counselling – One on One Session

Humans are naturally social creatures, so talking and communicating with others is one of the primary methods we have for shifting through our thoughts. Unfortunately, we do not always feel comfortable talking to the people in our lives. When we are feeling overwhelmed, our emotions, worries and stresses can seem like too much to unload on a friend or a family member. That is where individual counselling is helpful in creating a safe space to explore your concerns objectively, offering a comforting word, encouraging self-discovery and the use of adaptive coping skills to help you improve the quality of your life.

D

Group Counselling

Group counselling can act as a strong support network for students to feel a greater sense of connection to others and normalises what they are going through. It provides a valuable space for students to share information about themselves, gain insight into their own thoughts and behaviours as well as learn helpful ways to give and receive support besides getting feedback from others. Some of our group counselling topics include stress management, communication skills, exploring relationship, managing anxiety and enhancing coping skills.

Your Confidentiality is Our Priority

MYTH #3: Counsellors or psychologist will tell you what to do and how to “fix” your problems.
