Complementing Mainstream Medicine

Traditional and complementary medicine plays a major role in healthcare and the Health Ministry has acknowledged it as an important component in the country’s healthcare system. In Malaysia, traditional and complementary medicine programmes accredited by Malaysian Qualifications Agency include Malay massage, traditional Chinese Medicine and chiropractic. IMU through its Centre for Complementary and Alternative Medicine offers undergraduate programmes in Chiropractic and Chinese Medicine as well as a MSc in Acupuncture as its postgraduate programme.
