In conjunction of World Health Festival 2019, Alumni Relations Office (ARO) collaborated with IMU Student Talent Development and IMU Scholars to organise the first ever Student – Alumni Adventures: Chiling Waterfalls, Kuala Kubu Bharu Hiking Trip. On 7 April 2019, a total of 50 participants depart from International Medical University (IMU) to Kuala Kubu Bharu as early as 8 o’clock in the morning. A quick breakfast and a safety briefing was conducted by Alumni Relations Office (ARO) and Student Services Hub (SSH) staff and the adventure began. “This is my first time crossing a river during hiking! Thanks for the memorable experience”, said Imerpal Singh, an alumnus.
6 rivers crossed and 40 minutes of hiking later, the main waterfalls stood tall before us. We spent roughly 2 hours at the site, some were chilling under the shade while some wasted no time and jumped straight into the cold water. Postgraduate student, Dang Nguk Ling expressed her gratitude to all the committee members. “Everyone is awesome, everybody took care one another, especially during the river crossing. Thank you IMU for such an amazing activity!” Simiat Ahmed, an international student, loved the waterfalls and was glad she joined the adventures. Many students and alumni reflected on how being in the nature has helped them to set their minds free from their hectic and busy lives back in the city. For them, this was the getaway that they need. On behalf of the organising team, we at the Alumni Relations Office (ARO) would like to thank everyone involved in this adventure and we promise to deliver more and more adventures in the future!
