The bedrock to a promising future starts with building a solid foundation. This compact 1-year programme is the ideal beginning to your journey into the challenging yet fulfilling world of healthcare.
Be under tutelage and guidance of IMU’s prodigious faculty who will be your guide in the fields of medical, health sciences, and healthcare management. Beyond that, additional hands-on immersive activities provide opportunities for you to experience the various undergraduate programmes that IMU has to offer.

Direct Pathway into Undergraduate Studies at IMU
The Foundation in Science programme gives you a direct pathway into the undergraduate programme of your choice available at IMU and most of its international partner universities.
Entry Requirements
Academic Requirements
Pass SPM/O-Level with 5Cs in Mathematics, English, 2 Science subjects** and 1 other subject.
**Science subjects: Biology/Chemistry/Physics
Pass UEC with 3Bs in Mathematics and 2 Science subjects**.
English Requirements
• Minimum Grade C in SPM/O-Level English or
• IELTS: Overall Band Score of 5.0 or
• MUET : 3.5 or
• Linguaskill Online: Minimum score of 154 or
• Pearson PTE Academic: Minimum score of 47 or
• TOEFL Essentials: Minimum score of 7.5 or
• TOEFL IBT: 40 or
• Cambridge B1 Preliminary/ B2 First/ C1 Advanced/ C2 Proficiency of 154 or
• Occupational English Test (OET): Minimum score of 200 or
• ELS Certified Intensive English Programme Level: Minimum 107
Note: Please note that achieving the minimum Entry and English requirements as stated does not guarantee you admission into any of IMU’s programmes. Please refer to our Student Admissions Policy for more information.
Programme Structure
- *Your two optional subjects are key to success in your proposed undergraduate course and should be chosen accordingly and as advised by your academic mentors.
- Biosciences is compulsory for students intending to take Medicine or Dentistry; these students choose any one of the three remaining electives.

- ***FIS at IMU gives exclusive pathway to the University of Dundee and University of Strathclyde where extra credit exemptions are given to students taking the BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Chemistry and BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science for transfer to these universities respectively.
