YAM Tunku Ali Redhauddin ibni Tuanku Muhriz

Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Ali Redhauddin is the Tunku Besar Seri Menanti of Negeri Sembilan, and a member of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (Council of Justice and Law) of the state, chaired by DYMM the Yang Di-Pertuan Besar. In addition to his official duties, he actively involved with investments, corporate boards, educational institutions, and non-profit organisations.

Tunku Ali has been involved in education for fifteen years. In tertiary education, in addition to being Chairman of IMU, he is currently Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Chairman of Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), and was previously Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia for twelve years. He is also involved in K-12 education, as Chairman of Marlborough College Malaysia and as an International Council Member of Marlborough College, United Kingdom, and Chairman of XCL Education Malaysia, which operates 7 primary and secondary school campuses in the country. Tunku Ali is a Founding Trustee and Chairman of Teach for Malaysia (TFM), a non-profit institution dedicated to ending education inequity in Malaysia. He is also President of WWF Malaysia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Munarah (a charitable foundation set up by the Negeri Sembilan royal family), Chairman of Cancer Research Malaysia, and a Trustee of Amanah Warisan Negara (National Heritage Trust of Malaysia). He serves a Brigadier General and Commander of a Regiment in the Territorial Army of Malaysia.

He is a Senior Advisor to TPG Capital, a global Private Equity firm, and serves on the boards of several TPG portfolio companies, including Pathology Asia Holdings, a provider of diagnostic laboratory services in Southeast Asia and Asia OneHealthcare (formerly known as Columbia Asia), a hospital group. Recently, Tunku Ali has been appointed as Chairman to several specialist hospitals, including CVSKL and PICASO, focused on Cardio and Oncology, respectively. Separately, he is a Partner at Vynn Capital, an early-stage Venture Capital firm.

Tunku Ali is also Independent Chairman of two listed companies, Astro Malaysia Holdings and Taliworks Corporation. In addition, he is on the board of Bangkok Bank Berhad, regulated by Malaysia’s Central Bank. Tunku Ali holds a Masters of Public Administration from the John F Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and a BA (Hons) in History and Social & Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge. He is an Honorary Bencher of the Inner Temple, United Kingdom. In 2013, Tunku Ali was recognised as a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum, and as an Asia 21 Young Leader by the Asia Society. Previously, Tunku Ali was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, and an investments professional with Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
