IMU School of Dentistry celebrated its 15th year anniversary and 30th year anniversary of International Medical University (IMU) by organising the IMU International Dental Conference (IIDC) and International Dental Students’ Conference (IDSC) on 23 – 26 September 2022. This conference was conducted via a face to face and online (hybrid) platform with the theme ‘Nurturing Future Dental Professionals”. This conference aimed to provide a platform for dental students, graduates, practitioners, educators, and researchers to share their research and clinical work, interact and collaborate with participants from across the globe.
This conference was a great success, attended by more than 150 registered participants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Philippines, India, Pakistan and Iran.

All participants enjoyed listening to the interesting talks from our prominent keynote speakers covering topics from several dental disciplines.
There were 87 abstracts submitted and participants including students presented their work in oral presentations, clinical-case presentations, oral health promotion video and dental photography competition with keen interest and enthusiasm.
Five teams from different Malaysian dental schools participated in the dental quiz competition, gave very good feedback and shared their great learning experience.
The conference was also an excellent opportunity for participants to enhance their knowledge and clinical skills by attending workshops in endodontics led by A/Prof Dr Abhishek Parolia, dental photography led by Dr Spoorthi Ravi and Dr Naveen Chhabra and aesthetic dentistry led by Dr Umer Daood, Dr Kiran Rehman and Dr Naveen Chhabra.
A lunch talk on ‘Sustaining Online Teaching and Learning During and After COVID-19 Pandemic from What to How?’ by A/Prof Dr Sobia Bilal (USA) and A/Prof Dr Hanan Omer (USA) was well appreciated by the participants.
This conference was organised under the leadership of A/Prof Dr Abhishek Parolia as Chair and Dr Spoorthi Ravi Banavar as a co-chair. They expressed their gratitude to all the keynote speakers, participants, IMU senior management and appreciated the organising committee team members for their hard work and dedication to make IIDC and IDSC 2022 a very successful and memorable event.
