26 April 2015 – Several lecturers and students from various programmes of the International Medical University‘s (IMU) School of Health Sciences, its School of Dentistry and some of the University’s staff conducted their first IMU Cares activity at PPR Salak South. This project is a collaborative project between IMU and the KRT (Kawasan Rukun Tetangga) PPR Salak South. At the same event, the Health Department of the City Hall, Kuala Lumpur (Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur – DBKL) conducted its Aedes control activity. Nearly 100 residents turned up for the health screening in Dietetics and Nutrition, Chiropractic, Chinese Medicine, Oral Health, and for blood pressure and blood glucose measurements. With the data collected, we will be able to refer eligible participants to IMU Healthcare. This community project gave IMU the opportunity to announce about its Community Centre at the SPARK shopping mall, and explained the types of services that are being offered and will be provided in the future. Brochures about the Community Centre were distributed widely at the event.
