IMU Healthcare, a modern healthcare provider in Malaysia, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Chong Su-Lin as its Chief Executive Officer effective 11 September 2017. A graduate of the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London, Dr Chong began her early career in the National Health Service, UK. In 1990 she took a Masters in Business Administration at the London Business School. This was followed by two years with Cambridge Pharma Consultancy, specialising in the field of pharmaco-economics, utilising the combination of medical and management competencies to create health economics support for the reimbursement of pharmaceutical drugs – particularly within the field of oncology – within both the UK and European Union.
Dr Chong has a wealth of experience in the healthcare business having held top positions in managing hospitals and helping them to grow. Among the few senior roles she has held before were as CEO of Sunway Medical Centre for 11 years, CEO of Prince Court Medical Centre for 5 years and Executive Director of Beacon International Specialist Centre, a specialist cancer care provider.
At the launch of Malaysia’s ‘National Economic Transformation Programme (ETP)’ in 2010, Dr Chong was appointed leader of the working ‘laboratory’ for the Healthcare National Key Economic Area – one of 12 sectors within the ETP. She was subsequently appointed as the NKEA Industry Advisor to the-then Minister of Health.
