8 May 2015 – The International Medical University (IMU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with its Industrial Partner, Novartis Malaysia under its Partnership with Industry programme. The Memorandum was jointly signed at the University’s campus at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur by IMU’s President, YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Abu Bakar Suleiman and Michaela Dinboeck, President and Managing Director of Novartis Malaysia. Witnessing this event are Dr Mei Ling Young, IMU’s Provost. Prof Peter Pook, IMU’s Vice President, students and many invited guests. Through this arrangement, IMU’s students will be able to gain industry experience and work environment exposure through internship placements, attachments and/or study-visits at various Novartis centers. The MoU provides the opportunity of sharing the industry and academic knowledge and use of facilities, collaboration on research and development activities as well as collaboration in community projects. The MoU also grants lecturers and officers of the University greater exposure into actual industry practice for pragmatic and industry linked curriculum development, implementation and training of students.
