22 May 2014 – The IMU Buddhist Society organised a Wesak Night at IMU’s campus in Bukit Jalil. The Society hosted this celebration with the aim of promoting the right concept of Wesak celebration and strengthening bonds among club members.
Three monks from Buddhist Maha Vihara Temple were invited to this ceremony. The event started with a short meditation, followed by a talk and blessing sessions led by the monks. Tokens of appreciation was given to the monks at the end of the event and refreshments was provided. The event was a success and everyone was satisfied and happy with the whole celebration. It is the Buddihist Society’s hope that those who attended this event benefitted from the talk and all knowledge gained is put into practice in our daily life. Wesak/Vesak/Buddha Purnima is celebrated to rejoice on the birth of Lord Buddha, known as the founder of Buddhism.
