26 March 2014 – 7 lucky students from the International Medical University (IMU) Squash Club took part in the Laureus YR1M Squash Clinic at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil. Organised for children and youth squash players, other university students who participated in the event were from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College and Universiti Malaya.
“We were really fortunate to get first-hand training from Sharon Wee and Dato’ Nicol David. We also had the chance to challenge Dato’ Nicol David to a skill test. Both Sharon and Dato’ Nicol David were so friendly and down-to-earth that all of us had so much of fun during the coaching session. We got to know about this squash clinic through a former IMU student, Fong Yewin who was involved in organising the event,” said Lim Jia Yi, Secretary 14/15 of IMU Squash Club.
One of the most active clubs in IMU, the IMU Squash Club members have trainings every Thursday at the Bukit Jalil National Squash Courts. Last year, our club had also actively participated in many friendly matches with St Stithian’s College from South Africa, University of Macau, INTI, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia and Asia Pacific University.
