26 March 2015 – The MSc in Molecular Medicine offered by the International Medical University (IMU) received full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The accreditation was given after an accreditation visit from 21 to 22 January 2015. The visit was led by a team of panel consisting experts in molecular medicine field and experts in postgraduate studies. This MQA full accreditation is perpetual and the date of its commencement starts from 21 January 2015. The MSc in Molecular Medicine provides students with a solid theoretical knowledge in the area of molecular medicine focusing on the molecular mechanisms underlying the normal functioning of cells as well as diseased cells. It educates students to identify scientific research questions in clinical observations and to translate laboratory findings into medical treatments. Students in this programme will have the opportunity to engage in a research project in any one of the IMU research thrust areas, in particular, bioactive molecules, drug discovery and delivery, population health as well as cancer and stem cells. The programme is delivered through an insightful and innovative research-driven approach by our experienced faculty who have vast experience in molecular medicine.
