IMU School of Dentistry organised an ‘Advanced Endodontics Course’ held on 25-26 February 2023 at its campus in Bukit Jalil. Fourteen participants including postgraduate residents and faculty members from the Department of Endodontics, University Sumatra Utara, Indonesia attended this course. The objective of this course was to enhance their clinical skills in Endodontics and it was facilitated by A/Prof Dr Abhishek Parolia.
This course included lectures, demonstrations and hands-on training highlighting the benefits of illumination/magnification using operating microscopes, ultrasonics, latest rotary instruments for canal preparation, newer irrigation devices, thermoplasticised obturation techniques/systems, latest bulkfil and perforation repair materials.
Upon completion of the programme, the candidates gave very good feedback and shared their great learning experience. They felt more confident in applying evidence-based knowledge of endodontics in their clinical practice and managing endodontic cases with a high degree of predictability.
IMU School of Dentistry has been organising these courses for more than six years that have attracted dental practitioners from Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, and Indonesia. Participants have always given very satisfactory feedback about the facilitator, IMU dental skills lab infrastructure and support staff.
