7 November 2015 – The Nutrition and Dietetics (NDT) Reunion was held at the Auditorium of the IMU Bukit Jalil Campus. The theme for this year was ‘Urban Jungle’ which highlighted the mystery and uniqueness of the night. The NDT Reunion is an annual event held by both alumni and undergraduate students from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. Similar to the objectives of the Reunion Night 2014, this event created a platform to maintain the bonding among the alumni and undergraduate students as well as to keep alumni connected with the university. Such meaningful event requires early planning which started on June 2015. A committee was formed and led by an alumnus from cohort ND110, Aaron Ang who is currently working as a dietitian in Medifoods. The response rate was very encouraging. There were about 150 participants comprising of both alumni and undergraduate students. Not forgetting the support given by lecturers from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (N & D) – Prof Winnie Chee (Dean of the School of Health Sciences), Dr Snigdha Misra (Head of the Department) and other lecturers – who came together and officiated this Reunion Night. With creative ideas from the organising committee, the lecturers made a video for the opening ceremony. The video was both hilarious and touching. N&D lecturers rock! After the opening ceremony, there were many fun activities lined up including a short performance (that led all participants to dance), ‘Speed Dating’ (where the alumni and lecturers shared their career journey), ‘Eat to Social’ (where participants were socialising while they were having Banana Leaf Rice), and some fun games. Kudos to the organising committee who put in such a good effort! The night was short but all participants enjoyed it greatly and everyone is now closer than before. To end the night, a photo was taken, capturing the joy of the night and the bonding within.
