The start of 2017 brought in an Acting Dean for IMU’s School of Dentistry, Prof Allan Pau. This appointment is effective from 1 January 2017. Prof Allan Pau is Professor in Dental Public Health at IMU. He graduated from King’s College London with BDS, and completed his MSc and PhD in Dental Public Health at Queen Mary University of London. He was elected to The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) as a Fellow in Dental Surgery (FDS) after successful completion of his specialist training, and was entered into the UK’s General Dental Council List of Dental Public Health Specialists. He is also on the Malaysian National Specialists Register. In addition to his commitments at IMU, Prof Allan is also serving as a member on the Malaysian Dental Council, the Steering Committee for the National Oral Health Survey of Preschool Children, and the National Oral Health Research Initiatives Committee.
Commenting on his appointment as Acting Dean, School of Pharmacy, Prof Pau said, “I am delighted and honoured with my appointment as Acting Dean of the School. It is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of this School in areas of curriculum innovations, research and postgraduate programmes. I also look forward to contributing more widely at the university level to achieve our vision and mission.”
