The 1st Stakeholders Meeting organised by IMU‘s School of Pharmacy, welcomed participation of more than 15 stakeholders from various professional organisations, pharmaceutical industries, healthcare institutions and alumni. The aims of this important event are to identify, understand and clarify regarding the employers’ expectations on graduands’ knowledge, skills and attitudes. The event took place at the University’s Bukit Jalil campus on 3 August 2017. The Stakeholders Meeting is designed to further strengthen the School’s collaboration with key stakeholders and acts as a platform for sharing ideas in refining the School’s direction in providing training to produce competent graduands. The meeting was attended by representatives from Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS), Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA), Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia (PhAMA), Malaysian Community Pharmacy Guild (MCPG), Zuellig Pharma, Novugen Pharma, Hospital Putrajaya, Hospital Serdang, Hospital Pantai, Alpro Pharmacy, AM PM Pharmacy, Clinical Research Malaysia, Alumni and School of Pharmacy Faculty. The meeting started with a welcoming address from A/Prof Mohd Zulkefeli bin Mat Jusoh, Dean of School of Pharmacy followed by a brief introduction on the School of Pharmacy. The Programme Directors of BPharm, BSc Hons (Pharmaceutical Chemistry), MSc in Analytical and Pharmaceutical Chemistry; MSc in Molecular Medicine and Master of Pharmacy Practice then gave brief presentations on salient features of the respective programmes. There was a forum at this meeting which was divided into three parallel sessions; Community Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy. The discussion on current and changing trends of the profession, graduates’ attributes and future partnerships were extensively discussed which resulted in useful feedback and suggestions. These will then be fed into the School’s strategic planning and improvement in curriculum content and delivery.
