14 – 16 April 2014 – The International Medical University (IMU) Buddhist Society organised its biannual Blood Donation and Organ Donation Campaign at the University’s campus in Bukit Jalil. 273 units of blood were donated to the Klang Hospital Blood Bank from this campaign. Donors were mainly IMU students with majority of them coming from the medical and pharmacy programmes. The event also successfully obtained 64 organ pledgers. Blood donation and organ donation drives are organised twice a year on a regular basis by the IMU students. This campaign is directed towards creating awareness, especially among new IMU students to encourage registration of new blood donors, in addition to getting registered blood donors to continue donating blood as well as to encourage the registration of new organ donors. The next Blood Donation and Organ Donation Campaign will be held in September.
