Empowering Future Nurses at a ECG Interpretation Skills Workshop

In a significant development for healthcare education, IMU Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre Seremban hosted a comprehensive workshop on 17 July 2024, dedicated to the critical skill of ECG interpretation for nursing students.

Dr Abdullah Asad Siddiqui, a highly respected emergency physician, led the intensive two-hour session designed to enhance participants’ abilities in deciphering both normal and abnormal ECG rhythms, as well as understanding the fundamental treatment approaches for patients presenting with abnormal rhythms.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Seventeen participants reported that the workshop greatly increased their confidence and competence in ECG interpretation. They emphasised that the practical insights and knowledge gained were invaluable, contributing significantly to their professional development. Many expressed a strong interest in future workshops, recognising the essential role such training plays in improving patient care outcomes.

The success of this workshop highlights the critical need for continued education and training in emergency care practices, reinforcing the importance of professional development in delivering high-quality patient care.
