Forming the Organising Committee

The organising committee for IMU Chiropractic Cup 2026 (Chiro Cup 2026) was formed on 22 December 2025 with the aim of creating an event that would strengthen the IMU chiropractic community through

  • Sportsmanship,
  • Friendship, and
  • Meaningful connections.

Despite the holiday period, preparations progressed rapidly, with committee members meeting immediately to assign roles and establish the foundations for the event.

On 24 December 2025, the competition dates of 2 to 18 March 2026 were announced together with an expanded programme featuring futsal, volleyball, badminton, basketball, captain ball, tug of war, pool, Clash Royale e-sports, and a pickleball bonding session. A Retro Japanese theme, selected in January 2026, provided a distinctive identity for the event through its merchandise, decorations, social media, and official photographs.

Behind the scenes, all departments contributed to the success of the event:

  • The logistics and events teams secured external venues in response to campus renovations,
  • The public relations team obtained sponsorship support
  • Other teams coordinated operations, finance, photography, first aid, and volunteer management.

By the beginning of March, preparations were complete, and Chiro Cup 2026 had developed into more than a sporting event, serving as a platform for strengthening relationships between students, faculty members, alumni, and the wider chiropractic community.

Opening Ceremony: Bringing Together IMU Chiropractic Community and International Students

Chiro Cup 2026 officially opened on 2 March at IMU Lecture Theatre 3 (LT3), bringing together students, faculty members, alumni, and invited guests.

The opening ceremony also welcomed visiting chiropractic students from Health Sciences University (HSU), who were in Malaysia as part of their mobility programme, adding an international dimension to the event and creating further opportunities for interaction within the chiropractic community. The strong turnout reflected the role of Chiro Cup as an important annual gathering for the IMU chiropractic family.

Guests were also treated to complimentary soya bean milk and soya bean curd, contributing to the warm and festive atmosphere of the opening ceremony.

“Chiro Cup 2026 reminded us that the chiropractic community at IMU is more than a group of students and graduates. We are one family. Through sports, we build friendships, strengthen networks, and create lasting connections between students, faculty, and alumni.”

Among the team events:

  • CH223 successfully defended the futsal title,
  • The merged CH123 and CH223 cohorts emerged victorious in volleyball
  • CH224 secured the championships in captain ball, men’s basketball, and tug of war,
  • CH223 won the women’s basketball division.

The basketball programme also featured a special alumni exhibition match, providing an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with faculty members and current students.

For the individual events:

  • Pool quickly became one of the most popular new additions, with a CH224 participant winning the men’s singles category.
  • Badminton featured some of the most closely contested matches of the tournament, with CH223 leading the overall medal tally.
  • Clash Royale e-sports also attracted strong participation and highlighted the growing diversity of activities within Chiro Cup.

Throughout the competition, the event was characterised by:

  • Strong sportsmanship,
  • Teamwork, and
  • Mutual Encouragement.

More importantly, Chiro Cup 2026 continued to serve as a platform for strengthening friendships, expanding professional networks, and fostering a stronger sense of community within IMU University’s chiropractic programme.

Closing Ceremony: Celebrating Achievements and Community Spirit

Chiro Cup 2026 concluded with Chiro Night, which served as the event’s closing celebration. Students, faculty members, alumni, and friends gathered to reflect on the three-week programme through performances, games, lucky draws, and social activities.

Beyond celebrating the sporting achievements of the various cohorts, the closing ceremony highlighted the broader success of Chiro Cup 2026 in strengthening relationships and fostering a more connected chiropractic community at IMU University.

“Chiro Cup 2026 was never just about winning.

It was about unity, resilience, and unforgettable moments.
