Participating in the mobility programme to the Philippines with IMU was honestly one of the most eye-opening journeys of my student life. It was not just about travelling overseas. It was about stepping into a community, serving with purpose, and discovering what it truly means to practise healthcare with heart.
Most of our time there was spent providing free chiropractic care to locals who would not normally have access to this kind of treatment. The days were long, and the pace was intense. It was physically tiring and sometimes overwhelming. But every time I saw the immediate relief on a patient’s face after treatment, it reminded me why we were there. In those moments, the exhaustion disappeared, and all that mattered was the impact we were making.
