The Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry (PGDID) at IMU aims to support professional advancement for committed general dental practitioners. Training acquired by this programme helps the general dental practitioners to expand the scope of their practice to include Implant Dentistry.
The PGDID team is proud to announce that Dr Lim Zi Wei who graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry, IMU in 2019 has been awarded Fellow of the International College of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Elaborating on this, Dr Lim said, “I’m proud to be part of the IMU alumni in implant dentistry programme, it’s been a wonderful learning journey for me. The curriculum emphasises on the essentials of implant dentistry, evidence-based dentistry, precise treatment planning as well as communication skills to explain implant treatment’s risks in order to create healthy expectations amongst patients. The lecturers were tirelessly uplifting and motivating, as they encouraged me to partake in a case presentation competition during the IMU Digital Dentistry Conference in 2019 and to pursue my fellowship ICOI in implant dentistry in 2021 after the completion of my PGDID course. This course has certainly instilled confidence in me as I develop my implant practice and apply the knowledge – I have truly gained from the supportive learning environment at IMU”. The PGDID team congratulates Dr Lim Zi Wei for her achievement in implant dentistry and wishes her good luck towards achieving many more awards in her professional career.
