20 November 2024, Kuala Lumpur – IMU University proudly unveiled its Innovation Hub today, marking a major step forward in healthcare innovation, research, and industry collaboration. The hub was officially launched by YBhg Datuk Professor Dr Azlinda bt Azman, Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, during a ceremony attended by industry leaders, academics, and innovators.
The IMU Innovation Hub drives healthcare innovation by bridging academic discovery and industry application. It accelerates innovation, fosters strategic partnerships, enhances skill development, and supports Malaysia’s knowledge economy through the commercialisation of impactful solutions.
The IMU Innovation Hub benefits the industry by transforming academic research into practical, market-ready solutions, cultivating skilled professionals to meet the demands of the evolving healthcare sector, and driving economic value through intellectual property creation, entrepreneurship, and investment opportunities.
As part of this collaborative initiative, the IMU Nexus serves as a dynamic, curated network that acts as a central hub, linking a diverse array of external stakeholders across the innovation ecosystem’s value chain. These stakeholders play a vital role in providing essential resources, expertise, and mentorship to accelerate the development and commercialisation of innovative ideas and technologies within the Hub.
IMU proudly commemorates its pioneer 10 Nexus partners, which include TechCom Ventures Sdn Bhd, Watch Tower and Friends, Growth Charger, Meet Ventures, PRIMUS IP Sdn Bhd, Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Hayat Technologies Sdn Bhd, Ignite Asia, Messrs Izwan & Partners, and Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd.
By integrating the IMU Innovation Hub and Nexus, IMU solidifies its role as a catalyst for transformative healthcare solutions, fostering a culture of innovation that delivers tangible benefits to both the industry and society.
The launch also featured a Business Matching session, facilitating dialogue between industry partners and IMU’s subject matter experts across diverse fields such as Public Health, Pharmacy, Health Policy, Nutrition, Mental Health, and Bioethics. This initiative aimed to forge strategic partnerships, encouraging the translation of cutting-edge research into real-world applications.
