The second Professional Practice Fellow (Pharmacy) session was held on 12 August 2025 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The speaker for this session was Anitha Ramadas, a Bachelor of Pharmacy alumna from B107. She graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy from IMU in 2011 and completed her Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy in 2020.
Anitha is currently a clinical/ward pharmacist at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) in the Medical/TB ID ward. She is also actively involved in the development of the national antimicrobial guideline, the consensus guideline for sexually transmitted infections, and the consensus guideline on the management of HIV.
Anitha delivered a talk entitled “Career Pathways as a Clinical Pharmacist”, where she shared about the day-to-day roles of hospital and clinical pharmacists, as well as the career opportunities in this field. Her talk provided students with valuable insights into the responsibilities and expectations of clinical pharmacists.

A total of 46 students from the BP1/22 cohort attended the session (attendance rate of 57.5%). The feedback received was positive and encouraging, with students finding the talk highly useful for their future career planning.
The Q&A session lasted about 45 minutes, as students were particularly keen to learn more about opportunities in government hospitals. Anitha was very approachable and took the time to address all their questions thoroughly.

Overall, the PPF talk was successful in achieving its objective of providing students with a clearer understanding of the professional role of a clinical pharmacist. Students greatly appreciated the opportunity to hear and learn from a fellow alumna.
