The Mastering Professional Presentation Skills Workshop, an annual training initiative organised by the Department of Social Sciences, School of Psychology and Social Sciences (SOPSS), IMU, was successfully conducted for the newly appointed Student Ambassadors on 19 July 2025. This year’s workshop session was facilitated by Dr Thulasimani Munohsamy and Dr Arlini Alias, and welcomed 21 enthusiastic participants, guided by Ms Nur Attikah Shuada Binti Abdullah from IMU Student Services.
The one-day workshop was designed with a clear objective: to enhance students’ confidence, creativity, and communication skills through structured individual and group presentations. These skills are not only essential for their roles as Student Ambassadors but also crucial qualities for future health professionals.
What the Workshop Covered
The workshop encouraged participants to explore creativity and confidence through speech and presentation. It included:
- Individual and group presentations on diverse themes.
- Activities fostering idea sharing, critical discussion, and negotiation.
- Guided practice to strengthen imagination, expressive ability, and professional communication.
The practical approach provided a safe and engaging environment for students to practise and polish their oratory skills while working closely with peers.
