Kuala Lumpur, 18 July 2025 – In a remarkable display of knowledge, innovation, and teamwork, Pharmacy students from the IMU University claimed all three top positions in the prestigious Pharma Quest 2025 competition held during CPHI South East Asia 2025, clinching the Champion, 1st Runner-Up, and 2nd Runner-Up titles.
Now in its third edition held in Kuala Lumpur, Pharma Quest is an academic competition platform anchored within CPHI South East Asia, designed to challenge pharmacy students across the region in pharmaceutical science, regulation, innovation, and teamwork under competitive conditions.
CPHI South East Asia is a leading pharmaceutical industry event that brings together exhibitors, researchers, regulators, and academics from across the ASEAN region and beyond. Through such platforms, participants gain exposure to cutting-edge developments in APIs, drug delivery systems, regulatory trends, and pharmaceutical machinery while fostering valuable networks that bridge academia and industry.
IMU’s Stellar Performance
The contest was participated among 30 teams from public and private university pharmacy schools nationwide. From that pool, IMU’s BP122 cohort emerged dominant, securing the top three spots which is a remarkable feat rarely seen in such fiercely contested competitions.

The prizes were presented by Sharvin A Subramaniam, General Manager of the Malaysian Organisation of Pharmaceutical Industries (MOPI), in recognition of the students’ outstanding performance and excellence in pharmacy innovation.
The IMU winning teams were supported and mentored by a dedicated advisory panel:
