IMU is well recognised for producing competent healthcare professionals, and its one-year Master of Public Health programme offered a comprehensive curriculum in a shorter time frame, making it an efficient and practical choice for me.
A Challenging and Rewarding Learning Experience
My experience at IMU was both challenging and rewarding. The programme was intensive, with many assignments, group projects, and deadlines that required strong commitment and time management.
Although demanding, these experiences prepared me for real-world public health practice and helped me develop valuable problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.

One of the highlights of the programme was learning from experienced lecturers who are experts in their respective fields. Their knowledge, guidance, and real-life insights greatly enriched our learning experience.
We also had the opportunity to participate in educational field visits to public health institutions such as Klinik Kesihatan and DBKL, which allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s public health system and observe how public health initiatives are implemented in practice.
A Diverse and Collaborative Learning Environment
Beyond academics, IMU’s diverse and inclusive environment made my experience even more meaningful. I had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with classmates from different countries, cultures, and professional backgrounds. Learning alongside such a diverse group broadened my perspective, enriched classroom discussions, and helped me develop a greater appreciation for different viewpoints and approaches to public health.
