• IMU University hosted the Chiropractic Study Tour 2026 for students from Teesside University (United Kingdom) and Camara Institute for Chiropractic Sciences (Philippines).
• The programme combined chiropractic skills training, clinical observation, peer learning and cultural immersion.
• The study tour promoted international collaboration, cross-cultural learning and global healthcare education.

IMU University welcomed international delegates from Teesside University, United Kingdom, and Camara Institute for Chiropractic Sciences, Philippines, as part of the IMU Chiropractic Study Tour 2026.

The study tour brought together:

• 10 students from Teesside University and
• 9 students from Camara Institute for Chiropractic Sciences (CICS), together with one accompanying staff member from CICS.

The Teesside University delegation participated in the programme from 7 June to 4 July 2026, while the CICS delegation joined from 14 June to 27 June 2026.

The programme was designed to provide participants with an immersive educational and cultural experience in Malaysia. Through a combination of academic sessions, clinical observation, peer learning, institutional visits, and cultural activities, the study tour aimed to broaden students’ understanding of chiropractic education, clinical practice, and healthcare delivery within an international context.

Throughout the programme, the visiting students engaged with IMU faculty members and chiropractic students in a range of learning activities, including:

• Chiropractic skills sessions,
• Clinical practicum observation, and
• Student reflection sessions.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit healthcare and rehabilitation-related facilities, including: 

• ALTY Orthopaedic Hospital
• TAGS Chiropractic & Rehabilitation
• Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital

In addition to academic and clinical exposure, the study tour incorporated cultural immersion activities and local experiences, allowing participants to gain a deeper appreciation of Malaysia’s diverse cultural landscape. These included campus orientation, networking sessions, visits to local landmarks, and a Melaka cultural visit, which provided students with the opportunity to experience Malaysia’s heritage and history.

It also provided a meaningful platform for students from Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines to exchange perspectives, build professional networks, and develop a broader understanding of chiropractic practice across different healthcare and cultural settings.

Overall, the IMU Chiropractic Study Tour 2026 successfully strengthened international collaboration and created valuable learning experiences for all participating students, faculty members, and partner institutions.
