Graduating from the IMU with a degree in chiropractic marked the beginning of an exciting and transformative journey. As I transitioned from a student to a professional at True Chiropractic Group, I have seen how the knowledge and skills acquired during my studies have seamlessly integrated into my daily practice, shaping me into a competent and confident chiropractor. This article reflects on the lessons learned during my time at IMU, my achievements, and how they have been instrumental in my current role.
Studying Chiropractic at IMU
The curriculum at IMU is meticulously designed to provide a thorough understanding of the human musculoskeletal system, biomechanics, and the principles of chiropractic care. Understanding the intricacies of the human body, particularly the spine and nervous system, was foundational. This knowledge is crucial for diagnosing and treating various musculoskeletal issues effectively. Courses on radiology, pathology, and clinical diagnosis equipped me with the skills to assess and diagnose conditions accurately. Learning to interpret X-rays and other diagnostic tools has been invaluable in my practice.
Hands-on training in diverse chiropractic techniques, such as spinal manipulation and mobilisation, prepared me to address a wide range of patient needs. Mastery of these techniques ensures that I can provide effective and safe treatments. Courses emphasising communication skills and professional ethics have been crucial. Building trust and understanding with patients is fundamental to effective care and fostering long-term relationships.
One of My Significant Milestones
One of the most significant milestones in my career has been winning the 2024 International Sports Chiropractic Scholarship awarded by the Fédération Internationale de Chiropratique du Sport (FICS). This prestigious scholarship not only recognised my dedication and potential in the field of sports chiropractic but also provided me with opportunities to further my expertise and network within the international sports community.
My Career as a Chiropractor
Joining True Chiropractic Group was a significant step in my professional journey. The rigorous training in diagnostic skills allows me to identify underlying issues accurately and develop effective treatment plans. This precision has been pivotal in achieving successful patient outcomes.
