IMU Nursing student, Priscilla Tan Shi Harn, scored a distinction in the Nursing Board National Licensure Examination held on 6 September 2017.
“I was both surprised and delighted to have been nominated by Nursing Board Malaysia as excellent candidate. Upon receiving this pleasant news, I felt that all my hard work these four years has paid off. The four years journey of studying in IMU was a memorable experience for me. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the knowledgeable, skillful and dedicated IMU nursing lecturers and clinical instructors. They have molded me to be a competent nurse and confident person. Without them, I would not be the person I am today.”
“I felt eternally thankful to have a group of awesome classmates for the past four years. We helped, supported each other during ups and downs and we did so many memorable things together especially during our clinical postings. I certainly could not have gone through all these without each of them. They are my classmates and my nursing family. We have gone through so many challenges and at last, we made it together as one. Well done, cohort NU113!” 
Speaking of her choice to study nursing in IMU, Priscilla said, “For me, IMU has the best and experienced nursing lecturers and clinical instructors in their fields of expertise where they are always there to help and are ready share their knowledge. I was well-guided by clinical tutors and nursing lecturers as well as health practitioners during attachment at public and private hospitals and postings in community health centres.” 
“Besides that, in the nursing programme, I was given opportunities to be involved in community activities and projects that broaden my perspective as a nursing student. The most valuable lesson I have learnt was to be able to appreciate small little things in my life and learn to think of others. Moreover, I really love “No spoon-feeding” teaching style in IMU as it molded me to be more independent and motivated.” When commenting on the secret of her success, Priscilla said: “I believe that there’s no secret to success in the Nursing Board Examination. What works for some people will not work for others. However, I do believe hard work and success go hand in hand. Therefore, it is important to do early revision and do a lot of NCLEX questions.” 
“I have accepted a job offer from the Woodlands Health Campus, Singapore. I wish to work in medical-surgical ward for the first two years as I believe that this will be a good start for me to strengthen my nursing and management skills.”
