13 March 2014 – The International Medical University (IMU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tzu Chi University, Taiwan. The Memorandum was jointly signed in the university’s campus at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur by IMU’s President, YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Abu Bakar Suleiman and President of Tzu Chi University, Pen-Jung Wang. IMU’s Provost, Dr Mei Ling Young, Vice-Presidents, Deans and many important invited guests were also present at the ceremony.
The MOU was signed with the objective of fostering collaboration between the two universities to promote academic and research interactions. These include visits by and exchange of students for study and research, visits by and exchange of faculties for research, teaching and collaboration, exchange of information and joint research activities.
This MOU entails the coming together of these universities to work in tandem with each other to provide a synergy. It will deliver benefits in the future and pave the way towards a closer working relationship for the universities involved in the years to come.
Tzu Chi University (TCU) started in 1994 as a medical college and within 20 years, TCU has rapidly evolved into a university that includes Colleges of Medicine, Life Sciences, Education and Communication, and Social Sciences and Humanity.
