IMU’s New Student Representative Council 2014/15 Officially Takes Office

28April 2014 – An official handover ceremony for the newly elected members of the IMU Student Representative Council (SRC) was held at the University’s campus in Bukit Jalil. The ceremony marks a day of transition for the SRC as the Council of 2013/2014 officially handed over the reins to the incoming council of 2014/2015.

The ceremony began with a speech by the outgoing President, Russell Wong. In his speech, Russell thanked the outgoing council as well as the staff that have supported them throughout their tenure in the SRC. Following that was a speech by the new President, Cheah Ping Hua. He expressed his gratitude to the outgoing council and IMU staff for their guidance and contributions to the university. For the new council, he welcomed them aboard and urged all to step up to the challenging year ahead.

The ceremony ended with a gift exchange between the old and new council members along with a presentation of tokens of appreciation to the administrative departments in IMU.
