23 April 2013 – International Medical University (IMU) is pleased to announce that it is offering another new degree programme, a 3-year Bachelor of Science (Hons) Nutrition. The first commencement for this degree will be in July 2013 and applications are now open for this intake. All applications are to be made online. The 3-year Bachelor of Science (Hons) Nutrition (IMU), which commences in July and September of each year, exposes students to practical industrial placements and research, giving them valuable experience and preparing them to be a competent nutritionist, upon graduation. This gives our graduates an added advantage as they will be well prepared to meet the increasing demand for nutritionists in government agencies, industries, universities, research institutions, mass media and businesses involved with food, nutrition, wellness, fitness and health.
“The introduction of the BSc (Hons) programme reflects our commitment to meet the needs of healthcare professionals in Malaysia and the region. This programme was developed after a careful survey of the employment market, and hence the curriculum prepares students to meet the work demands of the modern day nutritionists. The addition of the Nutrition degree will significantly enhance the programmes offered in the university, both academically and in terms of student life, giving students a more holistic view,” said Prof Khor Geok Lin, Dean, School of Health Sciences, IMU.
