The role of caregivers is often overlooked, leading to about 25% of them being diagnosed with mental health issues. This is because they are also stressed and face emotional strain while caring for patients.
The Director of the IMU Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre, Dr Juliet Mathew, stated that caregivers, especially women, are more prone to experiencing depression and anxiety.
