First launched in 2022, iBOS has quickly grown into a signature event that challenges final-year medical students to apply their knowledge and skills under pressure. Each year, teams compete for the rotating championship trophy, a symbol of national prestige and institutional pride.

This year’s competition saw a thrilling return of the trophy to its birthplace, as the home team emerged victorious, reclaiming the title they first won in the inaugural year. Since 2022, the trophy has been passed to other top-performing institutions, making this year’s win especially meaningful.

A Competition Like No Other

The final round is always the highlight of iBOS — a head-to-head clinical challenge between the top two teams. This year’s scenario pushed participants to manage a realistic, high-stakes medical crisis, demanding not just knowledge, but resilience, adaptability, and coordination.

What Our Students Say

IBOS was truly an eye-opening event, which exposed us to the real-world application of the skills and knowledge we learn in medical school. During the six rounds of scenarios, it challenged us to manage patients in settings where we may not have access to all our medical equipment, thus making us think out of the box. Moreover, such simulations were very useful in instilling the spirit of teamwork and effective communication among medical professionals, especially under intense pressure. Overall, it was a fruitful experience for us, and we hope such simulations can also be incorporated as part of our learning during our clinical phase.

Congratulations!

The return of the trophy signifies more than just a win — it represents the enduring spirit of innovation, resilience, and excellence upon which iBOS was founded. Congratulations to the home team, and to all participants who showcased exceptional team spirit and collegiality throughout the competition.

We applaud and celebrate the home team for their outstanding performance and thank all the participating universities for making iBOS 2025 a success.

A special thanks goes to our organising committee, faculty judges, volunteers, and sponsors, whose contributions made this event possible.
