I Didn’t Get The SPM Results I Wanted But I Still Became A MBBS Merit Scholar

Despite scoring an impressive 7A+, 2A and 1B+ in SPM, Viishnu Thambiraja saw his results not as a triumph but as a turning point. Falling short of his personal goal of 9A+, which would have secured the government scholarship he had hoped for, was deeply disappointing—yet it became the spark that reignited his determination. Fueled by curiosity about the human body, a genuine desire to serve others, and the unwavering support of his parents, Viishnu chose to chart his own path through IMU’s Foundation in Science programme.

With relentless discipline, countless late nights, and a careful balance of academics, leadership, and community service, he pushed himself to the limit and emerged with a perfect 4.0 CGPA, earning a Merit scholarship to pursue medicine with no bond.

Today, Viishnu’s journey stands as a powerful reminder that setbacks do not define us—how we rise from them does, especially when driven by purpose, compassion, and a dream to give back meaningfully to society.
