For Dr Lim Zi Wei, dentistry is more than just a career — it is a journey of passion, purpose, and the joy of transforming lives through healthy, confident smiles.

An alumna of the Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry (PGDID) at IMU, Dr Lim graduated in 2019 and has since achieved many milestones.

She was awarded the Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), earned the title of Master, and most recently attained the Board-Certified Diplomate in Oral Implantology, along with the Diplomate Medallion from ICOI.

Looking back at her journey, Dr Lim said,

“Today, as I hold these certificates — ICOI Fellow, Master, and Board-Certified Diplomate in Oral Implantology, along with the Diplomate Medallion from ICOI — I am reminded that every milestone is built upon passion and love.”

Dr Lim is deeply grateful for her postgraduate experience at IMU, which she describes as the foundation of her success.

“I am deeply grateful for the strong foundation I received from the International Medical University (IMU) during my Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry (PGDID). The programme provided me not only with advanced technical skills, but also with the discipline of evidence-based practice, comprehensive treatment planning, and the confidence to manage complex cases. The mentorship of dedicated lecturers and the camaraderie of fellow course mates made this journey deeply meaningful. I truly cherished every moment of my postgraduate time at IMU, where encouragement and motivation, even beyond graduation, continued to shape my professional growth.”

To her, the ICOI Diplomate is not just a credential — it is a symbol of her dedication and belief in lifelong learning.

“Earning the Diplomate status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) is more than just a title. It represents years of dedication, continuous learning, and an unwavering belief that education is a lifelong journey, fueled by my love and passion for implant dentistry.”

She also acknowledges those who supported her along the way.

“I am sincerely thankful to IMU for being the stepping stone that nurtured my implant career, to my mentors for their wisdom, and to my patients for their trust in me to create healthy, confident smiles.”

Despite achieving these recognitions in her field, Dr Lim views her success as a beginning rather than an end.

“This achievement is not an ending, but a beautiful reminder to keep striving higher, to keep sharing knowledge, to contribute back to the community, and to always serve with heart, passion, love, and compassion. And above all, keep smiling, because it truly is the best free therapy we all have.”
