Malaysia’s caregiving challenge extends beyond increasing the number of caregivers.
Experts stress the need for a stronger caregiving ecosystem that includes professional training, emotional support, financial assistance, and family-friendly policies to prevent burnout and ensure quality care for an ageing population.
According to IMU University senior lecturer Dr Teoh Gaik Kin, these support systems are key to helping caregivers manage stress and provide effective care.
