Held annually on 10 October, World Mental Health Day serves as a global reminder of the importance of mental well-being and the collective responsibility to protect it.

This year’s celebration at IMU featured an engaging and insightful event dedicated to fostering awareness, reducing stigma, and connecting the community with valuable mental health resources.
The initiative was a collaborative success, highlighting the dedication of future mental health professionals and the wider academic community.
A key highlight of the day was an inspiring Mental Health Awareness Talk delivered by Madiha Fuad, Founder and CEO of PlusVibes Group.
Her session provided timely insights into contemporary mental health challenges, emphasising effective stress management, adaptive coping strategies, and practical approaches to sustaining emotional resilience. The talk reinforced the message that mental health is a vital component of overall well-being and deserves proactive attention and care.
Complementing the talk were a series of themed booths designed to promote community outreach and education.
These booths shared essential information on common mental health concerns, coping and support strategies in times of distress, and the importance of self-compassion. They encouraged openness, acceptance and dialogue, reminding everyone of the value of seeking support and prioritising mental health.
The IMU World Mental Health Day event was more than just a gathering; it was a testament to the university’s commitment to nurturing a community that values and champions mental well-being. Through expert insights and student-led initiatives, the event delivered a powerful and unifying message: You are not alone, and help is always available—reach out.
