IMU Pharmacy Students’ Association (IPSA) Wins Prestigious Global Award at IPSF World Congress

28 Oct 2024

IMU is thrilled to announce an outstanding achievement by its School of Pharmacy students on the international stage. During the 69th International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) World Congress, held in Incheon, South Korea, the IMU Pharmacy Students’ Association (IPSA) emerged victorious, earning the prestigious Best Annual Professional Development Project 2023-2024 Award for their organisation of the 4th MyPSA National Pharmacy Competition (NPC) 2024.

This accolade highlights the hard work, innovation, and leadership of the IPSA team, led by Tan Xin Ni of the BP122 cohort. The NPC 2024 project was lauded for its significant contribution to the professional development of pharmacy students across Malaysia. The competition created an unparalleled platform for students to hone critical skills, such as problem-solving, clinical decision-making, and collaborative teamwork—skills that are essential for their future careers as pharmacists.

Winning this global recognition is a tremendous honour, not only for the students but for IMU as a whole.

The Best Annual Professional Development Project is a highly sought-after award in the pharmaceutical student community. It recognizes projects that go above and beyond in fostering student growth, preparing them for real-world challenges, and contributing to the advancement of the pharmacy profession.

IMU’s victory at such a prestigious international event reaffirms the university’s commitment to academic excellence and professional development. The award serves as a testament to the university’s role in shaping future healthcare leaders who are equipped with both the knowledge and the soft skills required to excel in their careers. It also reflects the dedication of IMU’s faculty and staff, who provide unwavering support to students through every step of their educational journey.

This success would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the student committee, faculty members, and the wider IMU community. Their collective commitment to pushing boundaries and striving for excellence has not only brought global recognition to the university but also set a new benchmark for student-led initiatives in the field of pharmacy.

As we celebrate this momentous achievement, we look forward to further successes from our talented students. IMU continues to take pride in nurturing students who can lead with compassion, innovation, and integrity in the healthcare profession.

Once again, congratulations to the IMU Pharmacy Students’ Association, and sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this incredible achievement. We are excited to see how future IMU-led projects will continue to shape the future of pharmacy on a global scale.
