17 September 2013 – The IMU Cup, an annual sporting event at International Medical University (IMU), started with a dance showdown in conjunction with its Opening Ceremony. The event was held at the atrium of the University’s main campus in Bukit Jalil. This year, the dance showdown was added to the Opening Ceremony of the IMU Cup to spice up the ceremony. Six houses consisting of students of various programmes in IMU, Draco, Griffin, Hydra, Pegasus, Phoenix and Taurus, will be competing in the IMU Cup. The duration for the event is for about 2 months and ends on 1 November 2013. This year, the theme for the IMU Cup is “SPORTS DOESN’T CARE”. This theme was chosen because “sports really doesn’t care who you are if you want to play”. Sport makes us all equals because when it comes down to it, the only thing that matters is the passion that drives us to rise up to the challenge. Which of the six houses have the most warriors who truly understand that sport doesn’t care? Which house will be the one to rise to the top? Draco, Griffin, Hydra, Pegasus, Phoenix or Taurus? The challenge is ON, the stage is SET, Let the GAMES begin! You can get current updates on the IMU Cup from https://www.facebook.com/ImuCup2013.
