Participating in the chiropractic community mission in the Philippines was one of the most eye-opening experiences of my university life.

During the mission, our team provided chiropractic care to communities in rural areas, as well as to personnel from the Philippines Air Force and Marine units. The experience was both humbling and deeply meaningful.
This journey was not only about performing spinal adjustments. It was about learning how to build genuine connections with people despite language and cultural differences.
Through each interaction, I came to realise that being a good chiropractor is not defined solely by technical skills, but also by empathy, patience, and strong teamwork.

What touched me the most was the gratitude expressed by the people we served. Even small improvements in their comfort or mobility were met with sincere appreciation. Witnessing their responses reminded me why I chose this profession in the first place. Moments like these reinforced the importance of compassionate, patient-centred care.
The mission was both challenging and rewarding. Working in unfamiliar environments pushed me to adapt quickly, communicate more clearly, and support my teammates effectively. These experiences helped me grow not only as a future chiropractor, but also as a more mindful and appreciative individual.
I return from this journey with a grateful heart and renewed motivation to continue developing myself professionally and personally. Hands for Vitality has truly strengthened my commitment to serve with empathy, dedication, and purpose.
