The Professional Practice Fellow (Pharmacy) session was held on 10 June 2025 from 10:45 am to 11:45 am. The speaker for this session was Ng Yi Ling, a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) alumna from BP1/14. She is currently the Professional Care and Development Manager at Alpro Pharmacy and also served as the Advisor and Reviewer for the First Edition of the Provisionally Registered Pharmacist (PRP) Handbook, published in 2023.

Yi Ling delivered a talk entitled “Career Pathway for Community Pharmacists”, where she shared about the day-to-day roles of community pharmacists, career opportunities in the field, and the importance of upholding ethics while meeting sales targets. Her talk provided students with valuable insights into the responsibilities and expectations of community pharmacists.

A total of 69 students from IMU‘s BP1/23 cohort attended the session (attendance rate of 75%). The feedback received was positive and encouraging, with students requesting more such talks. They found the session highly beneficial for their future career planning.

The Q&A segment was engaging, as students actively participated and asked many thoughtful questions.

Overall, the PPF talk was successful in achieving its objective of providing students with a clearer understanding of the professional role of a pharmacist. Students appreciated the opportunity to learn from a fellow alumna’s experience.
