The mobility programme in the Philippines is an experience I will always carry with me. It was a journey that touched my heart in ways I did not fully anticipate, reminding me of the true meaning of compassion, service, and human connection in healthcare.

Being able to serve underprivileged and marginalised communities where access to chiropractic care is limited was both humbling and deeply meaningful. Many of the people we met welcomed us with warmth and trust, despite having little access to healthcare resources. Through each interaction, I was reminded that empathy and genuine care can be just as powerful as any treatment we provide.
What made the experience even more special was the sense of connection we built along the way. Sharing stories, laughter, and moments of understanding with people from different countries and backgrounds created a strong sense of unity. These shared experiences showed me how healthcare has the ability to bring people together, transcending language, culture, and circumstance.

Working alongside local Philippine healthcare workers broadened my perspective significantly. Their dedication, resilience, and commitment to serving their communities left a lasting impression on me. Learning from them not only enhanced my understanding of healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings, but also inspired me to approach my future practice with greater humility and compassion.

Hands for Vitality was a perfect blend of service, learning, and connection. It challenged me in the best way possible, while also affirming my passion for healthcare and service to others. More than just a programme, it was a heartfelt reminder of why empathy must always remain at the centre of patient care.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey. The lessons I gained and the connections I formed will continue to shape how I grow, both as a future healthcare professional and as a person.
