Key Pillar projects

We constantly move the needle in research and development – exploring, leading and supporting initiatives that bring impact to the community.

Creating meaningful, measurable impact

The IMUAXL Advanced Cell Laboratory, an Academia-Industry Nexus for Health Technology Advancement, is dedicated to driving breakthroughs in regenerative medicine, focusing on tissue repair, immune modulation, and innovative disease therapies.

Leading the way in brain science

IMU’s Brain Science Chair is dedicated to establishing national leadership in brain science, with a particular emphasis on neurodiversity in the Malaysian context.

Supporting national health

In partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH), IMU supports national health through initiatives such as the SeDia Cohort study – the first large-scale cohort study on diabetes in Malaysia; and the establishment of the IMU-MOH Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) – one of the first university-MOH co-located CTUs in a public primary healthcare facility.
