Recently, respiratory illnesses, particularly human metapneumovirus (HMPV), have been on the rise in this country. In addition to children under the age of five and the elderly, this illness also poses a risk to smokers and those who use electronic cigarettes, such as vapes. However, health experts reassure the public that there is no need to panic, as this virus is not new.
