Workshop Overview:-
As part of IMU commitment to creating an equitable and supportive educational environment, following the creation of IMU inclusive teaching guidelines, this workshop is to introduce an awareness exercise aimed at integrating inclusivity into the heart of our teaching, learning, and assessment practices. This workshop is designed to equip faculty and staff with the understanding and strategies needed to embrace and enact inclusivity in their professional roles. This half day workshop allows participants to explore the principles of inclusive education, engage in reflective exercises to examine personal biases, and collaboratively develop actionable plans to apply these insights directly to their teaching methodologies.
Workshop Objective:-
- Understand the principles of inclusive teaching and its importance in higher education.
- Reflect on personal biases and their impact on teaching and assessment methods.
- Learn and practice strategies for creating inclusive lesson plans, materials, and assessment methods.
Workshop Learning Outcomes:-
After this workshop, the participants will be able to:
- Implement Inclusive Teaching Practices: Apply strategies to design and deliver inclusive practices in teaching and assessment aligned to the diverse needs of students.
- Enhance Classroom Inclusivity: Foster a supportive and respectful classroom environment that promotes engagement and participation among all students, acknowledging and valuing their diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
