Overview:-
Inclusive pedagogy is a student-centred approach to teaching that takes into account the diverse backgrounds, learning methods, and abilities of all the students in the classroom. It is a method of instruction in which instructors and students collaborate to create an environment that promotes social justice and allows each individual to be completely present and feel valued.
Inclusive pedagogy has been highlighted in the Malaysia National Education Blueprint 2013-2025. In support of this, IMU need to ensure we inculcate inclusive pedagogy in our practice. Taking the first step in self-reflection towards developing an inclusive pedagogy by discussion based on literature, this session aims to recognise some implicit bias hidden in existing educational structures and materials in the effort to reworking representation, assessment strategies, and teaching activities in IMU. We will use the SWOT framework for our discussions.
