Systematic Review & Meta Analysis Tools (Meta-IMU)

Overview

Meta-analysis is a procedure used to statistically combine the results of multiple studies that investigate a similar research question.

This allows healthcare professionals to make well-informed decisions. However, to produce a meta-analysis that is informative and unbiased, the authors need to follow a formal guideline in conducting and reporting the results.

Meta-IMU is a free R-based Shiny application designed to provide a one-stop solution in conducting meta-analysis, offering:

Step-by-step guidance to beginner in meta-analysis
A rich set of features with a user-friendly interface
Instructional videos to assist users in navigating the application
Support for both standard meta-analysis as well as umbrella review methods

Installation Requirements & Checklists

It is recommended to use a computer with at least 16GB of RAM. A computer with 8GB of RAM may be able to run the application, but certain steps may become very slow or even not executable.

This application has only been tested on Microsoft Windows or macOS. It may be able to run on other operating system that R and Rstudio support, but it has not been tested.

Microsoft Excel or other software that can edit .csv file and .xlsm file is needed.

Download the oa_file_list.csv file from PubMed via this LINK.
It’s recommended to obtain the latest version of this file before starting a new project.

Download the latest version of the Meta-IMU.zip. You are required to register by filling in the registration form below. The links for download will be shared over email. It is advisable to ensure you have the most updated version of the application before beginning a new project.
