Workshop Synopsis:-
With the growing emphasis on evidence-based practice and data-driven decision-making in healthcare, understanding and applying statistical methods is essential for professionals in the medical & health professions field.
During the lectures and problem-based workshops, health care data from observational studies will be utilised for carrying out a series of statistical analysis techniques using the SPSS software.
Examples from medical journal articles will also be used during the lectures / workshops, forming the basis for highlighting the relevance of the more commonly cited statistical analyses found in the biomedical literature. The selection of the articles will be based on the material covered during the lectures / workshops with particular emphasis placed on the interpretation of statistical results that are presented in the selected articles

The objective of this workshop is to:

- Define and explain fundamental statistical terms and concepts relevant to medical research.
- Conduct data entry, variable coding, and creation of datasets in SPSS.
- Apply appropriate statistical tests based on research objectives and data types.
